Planning matters

Sampford Peverell has a Parish Plan which was created in 2008-2009, covering all aspects of village life.
A copy of the summary of it is attached here: Parish Plan Summary
The full Parish Plan can be read here: Full Parish Plan 2009

Planning applications are usually decided by Mid Devon Council, although the Parish Council is asked to comment on all applications which are in or near the parish.  All planning applications appear on the Mid Devon website here:
http://planning.middevon.gov.uk/online-applications/

Plans come under particularly close scrutiny if they are in the Conservation Area.  This area is marked in the maps on the Maps page.

The Parish Council's view on housing in the village is outlined in our response to the Local Plan (on the J27 and Local Plan page).  We don't oppose all development but feel that 30 dwellings would be the maximum the village can take, if sited in a sensible location, with about a third of those being affordable homes to meet the local need.

Sampford Peverell is included in the Mid Devon Local Plan which is currently under review.  More information can be found on the J27 & Local Plan tab above or by clicking here: J27 and Local Plan page
