Sampford Peverell is a pretty village near Tiverton in Devon and is home to about 1300 people. The village has great facilities including a good pub, a shop-cum-Post Office, a farm shop, a doctor's surgery, a village hall, a primary school, a sports field, tennis courts, a Multi Use Games Area, and a fun Play Park. The Grand Western canal runs through the middle of the village, providing scenic views and easy walking and cycling routes. There are great transport links: we are near the M5, and have Tiverton Parkway station within walking distance.
Sampford was mentioned in the Domesday Book and has a number of buildings of historic interest. See the History of Sampford Peverell page for more information on its history.
Sampford Peverell has a strong community spirit and there are so many clubs and societies in the village that it is hard to keep track of them all. They cover such diverse interests as local history, singing, knitting, bees, sports, gardening, and even compost! See our clubs and societies page for more information.
Transport links are excellent as we are close to the M5 which gives quick access to Exeter to the South and Taunton to the North. We are also very lucky in having Tiverton Parkway station on the edge of the village, from which direct trains run to Exeter and the South-West, London Paddington, and north to Taunton, the Midlands, the North and Scotland.
We are midway between the beautiful North and South Devon coasts which are both just 20-30 minutes' drive away, and we are also within easy reach of both Exmoor and Dartmoor, and the many other sights and attractions which Devon has to offer.
